Applications for grants can be made at any time and require, as a minimum, the following information. Project descriptions should be limited to a maximum of two pages plus supporting materials and mailed to:

eligibility

Organizations applying for grants must:

  • be providing services without discrimination which directly benefit the citizens of London and the surrounding area
  • be a registered charity under the Income Tax Act
  • exercise responsible fiscal management
  • disclose any pertinent information about their finances and governance when requested

Grants are not normally made for:

  • regular operating costs
  • annual fundraising campaigns
  • political or religious organizations for self-serving purposes
  • government agencies or public organizations
  • projects already completed
  • repetitive requests for similar projects
  • recoverable amounts of sales taxes
  • bulk mailing campaigns

application process

Requests for funding must provide the following information:

  • a specific description of the project or purpose for which funding is being requested, identifying the need for assistance, the dollar amount excluding taxes, as well as the overall budget and schedule
  • a clear indication of the benefits from the proposed activity or project for which funding is requested
  • a brief summary of the organization and its objectives, accompanied by a list of directors and a copy of the most recent financial statements
  • confirmation of the Charitable Business Number
  • contact person with address and telephone number(s)
  • please provide nine copies of the above information

Decisions on funding are at the sole discretion of the Foundation's Board of Directors. Additional information may be requested prior to making a funding decision. Should a grant be made, confirmation of how the funds were used may also be requested.
